With noise emission regulations worldwide becoming more strict and the general public expressing increased criticism of noise, Vandemon developed a bimodal Valve exhaust system that does away with the OEM catalytic converter and heavy steel muffler and headers. Apart from a significant weight saving, this exhaust is unique because the operator can choose from two exhaust tones, Quiet or Loud, at the press of a button on the handlebars.

How Does It Work?
The exhaust system consists of two mufflers: a quiet muffler positioned where the catalytic converter once was and then a final non-restricted muffler. In Stealth mode exhaust gas is redirected through the first muffler when the valve is shut via a purpose-made titanium electrically operated valve that, when closed, directs all exhaust through both the first and second mufflers to give an exhaust tone that is OEM quiet. When the valve is in the open position, the exhaust gases will bypass the quiet muffler and exit via the path of least resistance, which is the final muffler that has no restriction to exhaust flow, making for a deep tone and maximum power. A purpose-made weather-resistant BMW electric motor drives the exhaust valve, enabling the rider to switch between quiet and loud via a handlebar-mounted switch.
- A custom wiring loom is provided with waterproof electrical connections and a patch plug that connects to the existing Ducati wiring loom without the need for cutting and soldering to gain power for the servo.

When tuning the Stealth exhaust, the technician customises the tune to the valve open (loud mode), which also serves the Stealth quiet mode.
The sole purpose of this exhaust is so the rider can choose between quiet or loud and not draw attention when needed while still having the luxury of a better-sounding and more powerful exhaust when out on the open roads.

We at Vandemon do not try to meet noise emission standards because the end results would be no different from what your OEM exhaust can already achieve. Check with your country's governing body regarding noise emission standards rules and regulations.
